Hiatus Mode...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! Been so busy at my new job I haven't had much of a chance to post anything up, plus my portable hard drive has been playing up and I can't access my photos on them! So there's that too, can't blog without photos now...

As soon as I get some free time I will update this with what I can, the photos on the hard drive will have to wait for when it is fixed! Hopefully not all is lost... Fingers crossed!

Hope everyone is having a lovely summer at the moment! London has been pretty good so far with it's weather! :)

Matcha Green Tea Frappe! [Recipe]

I love most green tea flavoured things such as drinks and edibles and my top favourite has to be a matcha green tea frappe! My first taste of one was actually a bubble tea drink! I've seen my friends get Starbucks Green Tea Frappucino when they're abroad but sadly they don't serve that over here in the UK! So I thought to give it a go and make my own!

I bought the matcha green tea powder a few months ago because I fell in love with the drink! It meant that I can make my own green tea drink whenever I want! All the ingredients were what I had in the house so it was quick to whip up. I will share with you the recipe on how I make my frappe! Perfect drink for hot weather :)

And today I will share a Blueberry and Banana muffin recipe with you!

These muffins are really soft and moist and just perfect for those sweet cravings! I tried to make this recipe as healthy as I could without it being a complete fail haha! Hope you enjoy it!

Milk Bubble Tea! [Recipe]

I love bubble tea and had a crack at making my own! The recipe I'm going to share is the recipe I've perfected to my liking. Well almost perfect but good enough! haha (I think it's the tea leaves that makes the difference). I will be attempting other flavours soon!

Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie! [Recipe]

Peanut butter and jelly is a popular sandwich filling in America and I only came across this craze a few years ago from hearing it on TV shows! I never actually tried a PB&J sandwich until last year! I actually thought they used GELATINE jelly on the sandwiches and thought it was rather odd... I had to look it up to find that the American's "jelly" is our "jam" haha. Confusions! Upon finding that out, I made my own PB&J sandwich and to my surprise, I quite liked it! I don't like peanut butter on it's own in a sandwich so the jam helped! I also like putting honey as an alternative too mmm sweet goodness!

I came across this smoothie a few times and it sounded interesting so I thought to try it out :D I liked eating it so I took the risk in having it for a drink! Surprisingly, it was nice! Haha a strawberry smoothie with an added kick of peanut butter! For all you peanut butter and jelly lovers out there, you should give this a try!

Coffee Frappe! [Recipe]

I loveeee coffee!!! Not straight though, needs to have sugar and milk involved lol

As Summer has arrived, I've been making a lot of cold beverages! I enjoy a coffee frappe and usually get it from Starbucks or McDonalds. But I don't have time to walk up there when I'm working so I started making my own! And why not share my recipe that I use :)

I usually make this coffee and drink it hot but not in this weather... Oh no sir-ee...

Coconut Chia Seed Pudding! [Recipe]

I've been trying to eat a little healthier these past few weeks and it's been very hard!! Stopping myself reaching for that candy bar or a handful of strawberry lances that I love oh so much... *starts fantasising* I must resist!!!!

I have a sweet tooth and to completely wipe sugary goodness is just out of the question here. So I've been finding other substitutes to cure those cravings! Sometimes eating only fruit doesn't do it so when I came across this pudding, I just had to give it try! I've also read good things about chia seeds and have been incorporating them into everything I consume haha and I also love all things coconut! Bonus!

This pudding is so simple to make! Especially when the weather has been so nice, it's refreshing to eat! If you wish to try it out, the recipe is below :)

Korean Spicy Rice Cakes! [Recipe]

I actually love cooking and baking and I will share the recipes I love on here with you guys :D

One thing about me though is that I only cook when I like the kitchen! I'm weird like that. I hate cooking in confined areas or if the kitchen is messy, my kitchen is a bit of both hence why you don't see me cooking a lot lol when I cook, it tends to be at someone else's house which will be at my cousin's for this post! :P

If you've been reading my posts recently, you'd have notice that I've been loving the Korean Spicy Rice Cakes recently! So why not attempt to make my own? The recipe I followed was adapted from my friend Julie's ! You can check out her blog linked on her name :P

Let's get started!

Serves: 6-7 people

Stonehenge!

After the short trip to Bath, we drove to see Stonehenge! It was sort of nearby so why not!  None of us had ever seen it so it was those once in a life time sight seeing trips lol

Exploring Bath!

This trip was out of the blue! My sister wanted to drive down as two of her colleagues were visiting there for the weekend and she wanted to go as well so I ended up going with her and her boyfriend! The drive from ours was two hours, I tried sleeping for most of it because I get car sick being a passenger in someone's car. Actually I just get travel sick from any moving vehicle lol though I haven't actually been sick, just feel queezy! But enough of that...
We left around 10am and got there for 12pm. Once we arrived, we met up with her friends and just walked around the area! It was a really nice place, spacious and great for scenery! The only thing that put me off was the amount of bird poop there was on the ground.... And one even pooped near us by the river!! I have a phobia for poop so this was not great for me loool I just run at the sight of poop. I've said poop too much already in this paragraph... haha I apologise!

Onto the photos!! I'm such a tourist at every new place I go to lol

 En route to Bath :)

Starters! We ordered a dish of Pickled Radish and the other 2 were complimentary I believe?

Thai Thai East !

I went here for a friend's birthday dinner and it was a place none of us had been to before so it was pretty exciting, I'm always up for trying somewhere new! My friend found this place on TopTable and saw that it had quite a few good reviews and that's how we ended up there! Haha

Address: 110 Old St, London EC1V 9BD

I found the displays and decorations quite nice to look at, very well decorated and presented!

Weddings! [Quynh & Daniel's]

[NOTE: This is a very long post...]

I just love weddings!! It's such a happy atmosphere to be in as everyone is so jolly and cheerful, it's the kind of surroundings I like to be in! So if I'm invited to a wedding, I'm there!! I'll make sure of it! Haha

This time round, it was my childhood friend and neighbour, Quynh, that was getting married! I've known her since I was 3 or 4 probably?? She used to babysit me and help me with my homework haha good times... And now she's married! I'm so happy for her :') When I received the invite, there was no doubt I'd miss it!

"But First... Let Me Take A Selfie!"

I took a LOT of "selfies" on holiday, what you're about to see isn't even all of it haha but I decided why not make a post of the selfies! Haha the blog title was a phrase we abused from the song #Selfie by The Chainsmokers.

This started off as a pisstake of the song but we rinsed that phrase daily lol every time one of us was about to take a "selfie" we would stop and say "But first, let me take a selfie" haha and if anyone starts off saying "But first..." we'd all finish it with "LET ME TAKE A SELFIE" so funny :P Was actually contemplating on making our own music video to #Selfie but we didn't get round to doing that. What a video it would have been lool

Enough of my jibber jabber... Continue reading this post if you'd like to see our "selfies" :P

But here's all the photos I managed to take!

Pancake Day!

I know I'm a bit late on this post but I've been busy!

Pancake day was about 2 weeks ago and it just gave me an excuse to make pancakes! I haven't actually made pancakes since 2012 so it was about time I did! Instead of having pancakes for breakfast, I had it for dinner LOL

We made American pancakes and it turned out rather well! You will find the recipe below!

Eating Out In Budapest!

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD!

Budapest! Day 4 ~

My last day in Budapest!

This day was a pretty chilled one and had a bit of a sleep in than our usual routine :P Our flight was at 7pm so we had until 4pm to fit in anything else we wanted to do! It was mainly walking around looking at the scenery around us haha

My friend was online and saw that there was an ice cream place near ours so we headed there after packing all of our things!

Gelarto Rosa

Address: 1051 Budapest, Szent István tér 3, Hungary

Central Market Hall

Address: 1093 Budapest, Vámház körút 1-3, Hungary

Budapest! Day 2 ~

Day 2

Right, got a bit more happening on this day! Went to see the historical side of Budapest and get some fresh Hungarian air! The ONLY day that was sunny and dry. We tried to fit in everything that was better to go to when dry and not in the rain such as outdoor locations! Also, everywhere I went to eat I will upload in a separate Budapest Food post!

Next stop, Fisherman's Bastion!

Address: 1014 Budapest, Szentháromság tér 5, Hungary

I actually love that there's signs around Budapest pointing to free WiFi...!! I was able to SnapChat and share my adventures regularly! Loved it!

Budapest! Day 1 ~

My first travel of the year!

My friend and I were discussing on taking a little city break and chose Budapest! I've seen a few of my friends go recently and was intrigued so I was up for it! Had to go see for myself :D
We went for 4 days so there will be 4 posts for this trip ;) otherwise it will just be too long of a post! I took over 1000 photos haha but don't worry, won't be posting every single photo!

Let's get started.

Day 1

I drove my car to Stanstead Airport because it was easier than getting public transport but boy did I regret that decision on the way back... You'll find out why in the last post!
Waiting for the transfer to the airport!

Belgo Centraal!

I've actually been here before last year but this time I'm making a post for it! Both occasions that I visited were for friends' birthdays :P
Belgo is popular for their mussels but I don't eat mussels so I can't comment on that... :/ And surprisingly, no one ordered that this time round! So I can't even show you a picture! Awwww :(

But these photos will have to do for now! A lot of different dishes were ordered and everything just looked so scrumptious!! Mmmmm even had a bite out of a few other dishes hehehe sharing is caring :D

Boba Jam!

Because my cousin was turning 14 this weekend, after the trip to the Planetarium I took her and my other cousin out to eat desserts in China Town! I've been to Boba Jam a few times now so it's not exactly my first time haha but I thought I'd write a post on it anyway and show you what we ate!! Here's some mouth watering desserts! Mmmmmm! :P

Peter Harrison Planetarium!

Those who know me will know that I love astrology, anything to do with the skies, stars and planets I absolutely love!! I can spends hours just sitting or even standing outside looking up at the sky, it just amazes me what is out there... I'm always excited when we can see other planets in the night sky. Even though it looks like a bright star, knowing that it's Mars or Jupiter somehow excites me haha

So where's best to go than the Planetarium itself?!! My cousin is also into the same thing, so I thought I'd take her for her birthday :) Didn't know what I was going to expect going there cos I'd never been and their site just said there's some shows and galleries on and I just booked an Astro Ticket which is for the Royal Observatory & Planetarium Show.

Upon arrival, the scenery was already amazing, how it overlooked the city in the horizon.
And of course I took photos! :)

Bibimbap Soho!

My first food post on this blog!

My cousins and I were hungry from our outing and wanted something to eat, originally we were going to go to a Japanese restaurant for sushi but it was a bit over our price limit so opted for a nearby Korean restaurant! I've heard of this place since it opened but never actually tried it before, so thought today should be the day to try it!
They have a very basic Korean menu, it has only a selected number of dishes. They have the more well known popular Korean dishes, literally all the dishes I would normally order at any other Korean restaurants so it suited me fine haha I was all set!

London Aquarium!

I actually haven't been to a lot of places in London despite living here and all! So I've decided to go to all attractions that I haven't been to! Well the ones that catches my interest anyway haha

Earlier today, I went to visit the aquarium with 2 of my younger cousins because they actually wanted to go! My friends aren't exactly interested in these places because most have already been, so most of these places I'm visiting will be with my younger cousins! Some quality family bonding time haha

These places, I always find over priced. An adult ticket here is £21.60 I think it was... RIDICULOUS! Just to see fishes? C'mon... So the only time I will actually go is if there's offers cos I'm cheap like that LOL I found one on Days Out Guide, 2 for 1! Sorted. So that gave me one free ticket. And off we went!

New Name

I've decided to change the name of this blog to "Jenny Loves" this allows me to post about literally anything I love instead of JUST my travels! If it were just to be based on travelling I wouldn't be able to post that regularly, whereas now I can post about anything. So it's much more broader!

This won't be so much about my personal life but more about where I go, I'll post photos of these places and tell you where I went and how I felt about it! I have a lot planned for this year so hopefully this blog will be jammed packed with my little adventures :D I'm so excited!! I made a bucket list (that I put up on the right) and hoping to cross them all off! In due time of course, still have a good few years in me haha I'm always adding onto that list so I have a lifetimes worth of things to do and places to go! Maybe I'll get to share some of those moments with a special someone one day too :) I hope to cross most of them off if not all!

This blog will give me the excuse to do them! Otherwise I'll probably just be lazy and stay at home being unproductive in all honesty lol there's just so much to see and do out there so I don't want to waste time being cooped up in my room no more when I can be outside exploring this world. Life is short, I don't want to have any regrets. I want to be happy and doing all of this now, is what makes me happy. I hope my blog will brighten up your day because that's my aim! To bring happiness to people :) So enjoy these posts!

x

P.S. This is the camera I will be using from now on in future posts! For those that want to know the model it's a Panasonic Lumix G5 :) Bought this especially to use for this blog!
(It's a compact SLR)

Happy New Year 2014!

I can't believe how quick last year went!
I hope everyone had a good year and may this year be a good one too!!

I have decided to give myself a project this year to do and that is to visit at least ONE new place (that I've never been to) a month! It allows me to do a bit more exploring and also I'll have something to update this blog with! I would love to travel abroad once a month but I need money for that haha if I'm lucky I may get to visit a few countries, but who knows! We'll see !

Keep updated for my little excursions :)
